How to import clients from a CSV or spreadsheet

Quick answerIn Clients, choose the upload button (or Ctrl+K → Import clients from CSV) and pick your file. Makeborne recognises common column names such as Name, Company, Email, Website, Notes, Instagram or Profile, and Tags, shows you what it found, and imports the valid rows. You can export your clients to CSV at any time.

Recognised columns

  • Name (or First and Last name)
  • Company or Organisation
  • Email
  • Website
  • Notes or Comments
  • Instagram, handle or profile link
  • Tags, labels or lists (separated by commas or semicolons)

Tips

  • Save as CSV (UTF-8) to keep accents correct.
  • Files can be up to 2 MB; split larger lists.
  • Rows without a name are skipped and listed so you can fix them.

Will it create duplicates?

Check the preview before importing; rows already in your list are best removed from the file first.
